I don't know about you, but our music, movie, and book collection is a little big. It's hard to keep track of what we have, and what we want to buy. I have had this conversation a few times with my wife while shopping:
Me: We should get (dvd, cd, book).
Wife: I thought we already had (dvd, cd, book).
Me: I don't think so, but maybe you are right. I guess we better check when we get home.
We don't make the purchase, and we get home and move on to other things in our lives. Two months later, we have the same conversation, often about the same item.
Itrackmine.com has a solution that will allow you to maintain a database of all your Books, Movies, Music, Software, Games, and even Wine. It has a mobile formatted web front end that can easily be viewed from your cell phone. You can even share your collection with other friends, and use the page to keep track of what you loaned to who, and when. You can even post reviews and ratings.
The only problem is that you have to enter all the data into the database. I guess this weekend will be a busy weekend...

I'm the lead designer for a similar service you might want to check out. It's called Belongs to Me, available at the following link:
http://www.belongsto.me
I just thought it was worth mentioning here, because Belongs to Me makes it a little easier to add items than iTrackMine. Using our "Web Reader," you can simply grab an item from a page on Amazon, Target.com, or any of our other supported sites.
Belongs to Me is still in private beta, but if you request an invite here, I can get you hooked up to check it out:
